Is it possible to use an aircraft instead of a team of earthbound inspectors to check a gas line for leaks? Last week Seiler Instrument was in Illinois demonstrating how it’s possible to get off the ground and examine hundreds of yards of gas line in minutes using the Microdrones MDtector.
This aircraft uses a Pergam gas sensor and real-time video link to overfly a pipeline and check for free methane returns. It can help eliminate difficult, dangerous, and lengthy hikes in challenging terrain.
Drones are awesome. So many great uses.
