Trimble has released a new firmware version for the Trimble R2. The new GNSS firmware version is 5.40. To update to the latest firmware a current and valid receiver warranty is required.

The release notes do not detail too much on the actual features and improvements made to the GNSS Receiver firmware. Here is the support note that details the added enhancements. As this update wipes the R2 to the new firmware, please do the update and take the R2 outside in an open area and connect to your data collection software.

The support note also details on how to update the firmware on the R2 using the Trimble Installation manager. Seiler Instrument has also created a YouTube video that details the process on how to update the firmware. The video can be found below.
